Order Edits is a Shopify app that lets a store's customers change the shipping address, swap an item for another size or color, or cancel an order from their account, within limits the store sets. This policy explains what the app does with data.
What the app stores
- The store's myshopify.com domain and Shopify ID.
- The access token Shopify issues so the app can work for the store.
- The store's settings in the app (which edits are allowed and the time limit) and its plan.
- A record of each edit a customer makes: the Shopify order ID, the kind of edit and when it happened. This is used to count edits against the free plan's monthly limit.
The app does not store customers' names, email addresses, phone numbers, shipping addresses or payment details.
What the app reads but doesn't keep
When a customer opens an order in their account, the app reads that order from Shopify (items, status and shipping address) to show what can be changed, and sends the customer's changes back to Shopify. This data passes through the app's server and is not saved.
How data is used and shared
Data is used only to provide the app to the store. It is not sold, shared for advertising or used to contact customers. The app runs on Fly.io (fly.io) and keeps its database on Neon (neon.com), both in the United States, which store the data listed above on the app's behalf.
How long data is kept
When a store uninstalls the app, its access tokens are deleted straight away. Shopify then asks the app to erase the store's data, usually 48 hours later, and everything the app holds for the store is deleted. When a customer asks a store to erase their data, the app deletes its records of that customer's orders.
Your rights
Customers who want to see, correct or delete their data should contact the store they bought from; the store can make the request through Shopify. Store owners can contact us directly.
